Stiffness between M2C and i8?
As I have yet to drive the M2C and can't find one local to test, how stiff is it compared to the I8? Same, better or worse? Mine's set for production sometime in Feb, so I should probably already have figured this out!

If it's worth anything, a friend of mine who owns an M2C said he drove an i8 a couple of weeks ago and he said it was incredibly "floaty" and unstable. Take that information as you wish.

As this will be my daily, I don't want it punishing. As stiff or slightly more or less than current, not a ton stiffer! The roads in SW FL are fairly good, but I don't want a ride like my old '04 STi now that I'm 15 years older! Thanks for the input.

It's a stiff car, and it doesn't hide any of the road from you. But it really isn't painfully stiff like the couple of STi's i've driven or my old RSX-S's. I was pretty worried about it but I've been very happy with the balance that BMW managed to find.

I think we all have different reference points on what constitutes stiff and/or tolerable for DD. I'm really pleased so far with the M2C in terms of the balance
But then, for me, the ultimate in stiff suspension was my old college car 89 Fox body Mustang. The suspension may as well have been hard-tail style with no compliance whatsoever. Rode like complete shit, but handled like garbage too because the only give in the whole system was the wet-noodle body flex We've come a long long way. I could live with the M2C daily no problem |

My experience with an i8 was limited to a 10 min drive, so take it with a grain of salt, but I think the M2 is stiffer. Suggest you try to get a test drive in to make any final judgments. Also, there might be a member near you willing to assist. Might be worth reaching out.
