Shampoos/Cleaners for Ceramic Coated Cars
What products do you all use for a maintenance wash on your ceramic coated cars? Specifically, what wheel cleaners are safe to use if your wheels are ceramic coated? Can you use a degreaser? Any ingredients I should stay away from?
I know for shampoos I should be using a ph neutral product, but what about wheels? Thanks! |

CarPro Reset for shampoo and CarPro Reload once in a while. For waterless washes in the winter, CarPro ECH2O (with a dash of Reload). A diluted mixture of ECH2O, distilled water and a small amount of Reload also make a great QD or touchup spray for ceramic cars
Reset can work for wheels, else use any other PH friendly wheel cleaner if very dirty.

Something as cheap as like Meguiar's Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner is acid free and pH balanced and is under $8. Sonax Wheel Cleaner Full Effect is under $15. All available at auto stores, Walmart or Amazon.

If your wheels are coated you need nothing more than SOAP and WATER. That was the whole point of coating your wheels in the first place. Wheel cleaners will eventually degrade your wheel coating especially something like Sonax wheel cleaner so that is just wrong information.
Usually you want to go with the shampoo that is the same brand as your coating to make sure there are no issues, but like others have mentioned any ph neutral soap will work for your paint. I'll give another vote to Optimum Car Wash. FYI there's no such thing as a spray and rinse wheel cleaner. You'll always need agitation. |

Only do weekly washes with ph neutral car soap and every 2-3 months use a hydrophobic silica spray after washing. That's all that is needed to maintain a ceramic coating.

Sonax for the wheels, the best out there. Fine for ceramic. I also use Gtechniq - C2 Liquid Crystal C2v3 on the wheels after Sonax and cleaning (as well as the paint). Brake dust wipes off like butter.

I haven't ever used a ceramic coating on the car so unfortunately I can't provide a comparison between the Flex Wax and ceramic. |
