So, I rode in DCT a few days ago and I'm not sure if it's just in my head, but it felt faster than my 6MT...I think it was louder too.
I'm not talking about flooring it (I know it's like .2 sec faster 0-60), but just some light pulls not exceeding 5k rpms. I'm wondering if it feels faster/torqueier due to the gearing since it has more gears? |

If feels faster because it is faster. You can't change gears manually as fast as a DCT and it's simple to just floor it and go compared to making manual gear changes that require some precision & timing when you are trying to accelerate as fast as possible. With DCT you just floor it and the transmission performs perfect shifts every time. I quite like my 6MT but there are moments where I wish I got the DCT so I could lazily just blast out of intersections or gun it at a moments notice like my DSG Golf R which was a point and shoot car in city traffic. I also feel with my car that there's some strange loss of engine response immediately after shifting when accelerating hard. It's feels different than rev hang and it's not turbo lag.

Breaking news: sky is blue, DCT is quicker than MT, and grass is green.

Was this at Potomac meetup last weekend? That was my hockenheim dct m2c. I remember you saying mine felt faster. I think the loudness in cabin is related to ASD as yours is disabled. The ASD adds a lot of artificial noise. Once mine is broken in we can drive them again. I think if you are going to disable ASD you need an exhaust and or downpipes to bring some sounds back.

Don't get me wrong the M2C is a nice car and excited to own one with future modding potential.

Yea, I rather enjoyed that smaller meet. Everyone was so nice and we were "forced" to talk to each other and not just broken into car manufacturer groups.

Let us know if you have this experience. I definitely know what you’re talking about coming from my 6mt M2.

I track my DCT along with my friend who drives a 6mt....cars are set up similar. My DCT jumps off the apex ahead of him at turn 7 at RA and just keeps pulling away reaching a 5mph higher end speed....extra gear and faster shifting....really ticks him off!!
