March 2006 N52 Engine part changes

Well the N52 has been in full production since 2004 and recieved some slight parts changes in March 2006

This affects all 2.5L and 3.0L N52 for cars built from Week10 ( March )

Changes:
1) Inlet camshaft
2) Exhaust camshaft
3) Exhaust camshaft cover ( to fit new cam )
4)1mm larger diameter exhaust valves

Does this change the output or fuel economy?? It seems like it would especially with the bigger exhaust valve and reprofiled cams!

Specs arnt listed as being differnt

Also remember , the head wasnt changed, so the exhaust port is still the same size. Maybe they just wanted a better seal at the valve

I'm curious to know whether this also requires any modification to the ECU in the event that some of us may want to have some head work done in the future.

I'm told that my car will be a March production but not given the exact week. How would I know?

Also, any bearing on where the car will be produced? Affect 323 model?

I think these are just little tweaks to improve thermodynamics a bit - which can (if ECU setting stay the same) lead to a marginaly (but really slightly) better fuel consumption.

Very difficult to find out

Only way is to find out from a BMW programmer if engines from a certain serial number onwards gets a different sofware version
