Does anyone know about the 350i???

A friend of mine is getting a bmw 350i from his dad. Its a 1986. I've been searching all over the web and all I found was that its a V12 and a 5.0L engine. Does any one know around the hp it would have, 0-60 time, or its 1/4 mile time? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

You sure you're not confused with the TVR 350i?

No such thing, at least in production form.

The year in question would have been the E30 chassis, which has over time been subject to a number of unusual engine swaps. I have heard of an Alpina B12 swap being done in Europe, but such a car is likely to be extremely rare if not downright unique - and probably not found in the US. No doubt the E30 with the cast-iron V12 block would be extremely nose heavy and miserable to drive. I wouldn't buy it even if I did come across such a monstrosity.

Another possibility is the E30 with some sort of American small block V8 (there have been at least a couple LT1/LS1 swaps done over the years).

Regardless, there is no such thing as a "350i." Personally, I suspect that you or your friend is full of it.

I'm not 100% sure. If you go to google and type in "bmw 350i" in images you can see it.

You're thinking of a TVR 350i with the V12

Nope, the TVR 350 used the venerable Rover V8 lump that appeared in just about every other British sports car of the time.

(It was originally a Buick engine too!!)

So the only way it is a 350i is if they swaped it. Maby his dad ment 330i or something. It wasn't the TVR I saw the car it was a BMW I did get a good look at the engine though. The car looked alot like the one in petefalzzz's link.

This is what I found in Google:

Ovanliga BMW - 350i

E30 med V12:a!

Robert Stelzenberger´s brutala E30.

Tekniska data:

Motor: Alpina B12 5.0 som utvecklar 257kW/350 hästkrafter. Motorn är dessutom lätt modifierad.

Drivlina: 6-växlad växellåda, tagen från 850i/CSi. Bakaxel från M Roadster, också den modifierad.

Hjulupphängningar: Fjäderben från E36

Bromsar: Servo från 750i. Skivor och ok från M3 3.2 E36.

Avgassystem: Hembyggt med produktionskatalysatorer från 750i.

Only a slight difference - 4 cylinders/12 cylinders.
