LCI double locking

Pre-LCI E9x cars were like the older BMWs... you could roll down the windows, hit the lock button on the remote, and then someone could not reach in and pull the handle to unlock the door.
LCI that function was dropped.
Anyone know if that is something that can be coded back in? Or, swap out door lock modules?

Yes I know it could be unsafe if someone got locked in the car, that's why it was removed, but I'm going to miss this feature in my LCI.

Will that keep the doors from being unlocked from the inside?

With LCI they also no long prewire the car for an alarm, so that would also be retrofitting all the wiring...

the ultrasonic sensor learns the contents of the car, and if someone reaches in it will sound the alarm.

they shouldn't even get to the point of unlocking the door. Also prevents someone from reaching in or climbing through the open window without setting off the alarm.
run your vin through the decoderto see if it's prewired.

Nobody pays attention to car alarms. They go off all the time, mostly they are just obnoxious. By the time they've opened your car and driven away (or robbed you blind), it will be too late.. alarm or not.

well if you leave the windows down, does it matter if the doors stay locked?

or are they just going to climb through the open window and steal the contents of your car anyhow?

Maybe.

In Vancouver, BC - people often leave their windows open because otherwise the thieves will just break your windows to steal $4.31 in change from your ash tray. lol

I don't leave stuff out in the car regardless, because that's just asking someone to steal things, smashing windows if necessary.

At the same time, I don't want someone to just open the door and sit down in the car. I want it to be harder than that. When the weather is nice, i'd rather leave the windows open.
And right now, the car smells like a mix of cleaning fluids, ozone, and cigarette smoke. Would be nice to air it out during the day when I'm at the office.

yeah, I don't live in the city. But I have family that live there - they're always shocked our UPS packages don't get stolen off our porch.
