Freeway Fun

I was on the freeway today (for those who live in Houston- Beltway 8 heading towards I-10) and was going along with the flow of traffic.

Crusing around 80 mph, I see a C5 yellow corvette speeding up fast behind me. I decided to have some fun and cut into the open lanes on the right and punched it.

The vette followed and suprisingly he couldnt pull on me that fast. I stayed in front as we approached 135 mph. Finally, he pulled up along side, gave me a friendly wave,
and was gone. Though the 3 is alot weaker than his american muscle car, I was astonished as to how well the E90 can speed up to higher speeds. Touche BMW! :rocks:

Good job luprang..I don't see how you went 135mph with the flow of the traffic

Enough with these " I went 135mph on the highway because a car challenged me" post..We should have a new forum section for these kinds of posts IMO

I agree with having a new section. Perhaps it could be entitled 'Careless, Dangerous and Immature Exploits'?

or perhaps it could be labeled, "for people not like ghosey115, he's too smart for that!"

I think there should be a new forum titled "Bitch About Stuff". Below it could be:

"Bitch About People not Searching"

"Bitch About 330 v. 325 Threads"

"Bitch About People Driving Too Fast"

"Bitch About Comfort Access Threads"

How about "I was dreaming and then woke up" or "Made up stories" or maybe just "LIES".

I'm serious about the new Forum section. These kind of posts pop up every other day now. We could even seperate section for different speeds 80-100mph 100-135mph 135-155mph, etc

Me too. Just about every thread I read degenerates into someone bitching about how they are annoyed by the posts on this board. It is really irritating.

I dont get it...Do you actually think he is lying in the sense that he didnt go 135 or just that the entire story is made up? I get up to 130 or so every week when its 2 am and Im coming home on the freeway. sometimes at 5pm in the day if the road is open.

Well I just relayed my somewhat exciting day. I acknowledge the fact that this probably isnt the most advisable thing to do in a car....but hey, it comes with the territory of buying a BMW. Anyhow - its a free country feel free to say whatever you please. I think "bitching" is protected in our Bill of Rights is it not?

Exactly! We should have a forum devoted to it!

dont know what to say,
since a corvette is significantly faster than a E90.
DONT want to be mean and call you a liar,
but dont want to be NAIVE AND GULIBLE either.

Who's tho say the vette' driver was even at full throttle and not just toying. Don't be a hater.
Thanks for the story, since I'm away from my e91 these help ease the pain, and pass the time. I can't wait to get back in my car and go fast.
For those that might not approve, I'll be going fast on a track, legally 3 days after I get home.
well, if I happened to be on a open highway...............

Sounds good OZ, but it would likely be a cat herding type task to move them to the section. Worth some effort though...

A seperate section would be silly, the cops would be all over it, better to have it scattered here to confuse the piggies

Do you really think we can legally get in trouble because of car stories on a forum? Any stories about this?

That's fun! About a month ago my roommates and I went out driving on 290 (at about 8pm!). One of the guys took his C5 z06 to 150 , I was following behind in a g35 (but not that fast).
