Electric Seats as Standard?
Hey everyone,
I'm going in Friday to order my 325xi and had one question that apparently my dealer can't answer. Does the base feature set on the 325xi (e90 of course) include power seats? All the BMWUSA.com web site lists is "3 way seats." I am aware the premium package comes with 8-way seats (obviously electric), but am still unclear about the basic 3-way ones. Thanks! |

Power seats on as packaged with ZPP on 325s and standard on 330s...standard non-zsp seats are adjustable fore/aft, height, recline and headrest adjustments count as well....
edit: forgot, power seats are also stand alone $995 option

That's some dealer you've got there! Is he running it out of his house or something? Well, let's assume that you're not scared shitless to be buying a $40k car from a dealer that apparently has no access to the BMW website, let alone any knowledge of his product line...
As stated, power seats are optional in the 325 and can be included as a specific option or as part or ZPP (zee premium package). Take a good look at the ZPP because it includes a great deal more than that, and IMO is crucial. Good luck (you'll need it apparently with that dealer)!

The other important part of the premium package is that it gives you leather, rather than leatherette. Also, the driver's seat and mirrors have memory. I think it's worth it, for the power and leather seats. The auto dimming mirror, garage opener, and power folding mirrors are all nice, but not a necessity IMO.

ZPP Premium Package Includes leather upholstery, power folding and auto-dimming exterior rearview mirrors, auto-dimming interior rearview mirror with digital compass, BMW Universal transceiver (3-button remote for garage doors and other external devices), BMW Assist and Bluetooth cellphone interface. INCLUDES Leather Upholstery and 639. I didn't get it because all I wanted was the leather seats.

For the price we have to pay here, thankfully power seats (with driver's side memory) are standard on the 325. Very nice.

Thanks everyone for the great amount of information.
First off, now I know what ZPP stands for! Second, I think the option to simply get the power seats is the way to go. This is for several reasons: 1) I like the ease of miantenance with leatherette and it's durability (my ol' E46 has it, and I love it) 2) The ZPP (premium) package offers more than I really need. I mainly was looking for the convenience of power adjustable seating. 3) The ZPP bumps the price just a bit out of my budget--or at least anticipated expenses. As for anyone's concern about the dealer I'm buying from... He's great in terms of ease of buying (no hard sales, etc), but I like to double-check my facts and questions against sources other than the dealer. Thanks again everone. I'm sure I'll be back soon enough. Looks like if I get my order in by this week, I'll get a June delivery! |

You also get Bluetooth with ZPP which I thought was the most important thing after leather if you actually use a bluetooth phone.
Also consider getting xenons and ZSP (sport package) which give the car greater look and comfort. Good luck with the purchase and keep us updated!

Here are the 325xi options.
Try to get a price at $500 over DEALER INVOICE; don't start at MSRP. Also comfort access is very nice. http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/bmw/...n=1&x=145&y=17 Good Luck

Oz,
Already have the xenons chosen. That's a must. The family tries not to use the phone while driving, so the bluetooth isn't a big factor, but thanks for mentioning it. (We don't have fancy bluetooth cell phones either ) |

From what it sounds like, you will just get the power seats..Still think about the Sport Package for $1600 though which gives you the sport 161 rims, steering wheel and sport seats! Good luck with your new purchase !
