2019 M240i ordered! (cross-post from Ordering/Pricing forum)

My wife and I fell in love with this car when we drove it last year, so I put my 2015 Mustang GT up for sale and waited...and waited. Finally, the right buyer found the GT on Craigslist and I sold it a couple of weeks ago.

Went back to the local BMW dealer and test drove again, this time comparing to the M2 and a 2015 M3 (both stick shift, which was quite fun...wish the M240i had that option). Anyway, we both loved the M240i, even though stick isn't an option the ZF 8-speed is very good, and we put in our order. It started its build last week. We're looking forward to getting the car, and interacting with other enthusiasts on the forum.

Estoril Blue with black Dakota leather, Fine Wood fineline trim, Premium Package, Adaptive LED headlights, Parking Assist, HK sound, stainless pedals, wireless charging.

Apparently there is no longer an "Executive Package" and some options are now check-list items.

It's currently in production with an estimated completion date of 11/30. Not sure how long it takes for delivery.

I am sure you could get a M240 with a stick shift.... do you get the XDrive? That is probably the limitation on the stick shift.

You're probably right. I didn't even try to configure it without XDrive.

Congrats on what was definitely a good purchase. . Nicely equipped too!

I see from your Garage List you are a big fan of AWD cars. Does it snow a lot where you are at in CA? The 6-speed manual is only available in RWD cars as was already mentioned. That is how I configured mine, but then again, I don't commute with it and only drive it on nice days. I would have definitely considered the 8-speed auto though, had I purchased it for driving on a daily basis. Awesome transmission for sure considering it's not even a DCT.

Enjoy the new ride! Cheers!

Congrats! Mine took about 11 weeks (also West Coast).

My wife and I both love AWD cars mainly for the added traction and stability even on dry roads. We are actually within 20 miles of the ocean, so no snow here, but when it rains AWD is awesome. We also have relatives in Nevada, so having AWD has come in handy when driving over the Sierra Nevada mountains during the winter.
