SPEC clutch Stage 4
If I get the stage 4 clutch kit do I have to get an upgraded flywheel. I am going to be pushing around 700whp. What would happen if I didn't get an aftermarket one?

From my experience the stock DMFW will throw misfire codes above 6300 RPM and will put you into limp mode.. at that power level, you should do it right the first time and get a clutch and flywheel kit that will exceed your power goals by a large margin..

I don't recommend the Stage 4 if you want anything that is remotely practical from a drivability perspective. 3+ or Twin Disc. We sell dozens and dozens of clutch kits a month, trust me. |

Thanks Jeff. I didn't know it could cause misfires - i definitely want to stay away from those. The spec 3+ kit is rated for only 671 torque and I should be pushing more than that at the crank. Is this why people end up replacing the 3+ kit eventually down the road? |

If your power goals are over 671 Torque then you should consider a clutch that has a higher torque rating. After the 3+ the only clutch kits that really have decent drivability are going to be Twin Disc. |
