Black Wheels.

Im thinking of 19" ASA AR1's and H&R Sport Springs.

On tirerack only the 18" ASA AR1's appear, do they not have the 19"? or is it not recommended for e90. I've seen some members with 19" ASA's so i'm confused why it doesnt show up on tirerack.

Also, will blacked out grills and black wheels look awkward on a Black Sapphire e90? I kinda wish i had Jet Black now... cheaper too.

The BLACK ASA 18's only show up in 18". but you can get the chrome and silver ASA AR1's in 19", I believe.

I'm not sure if they even make a ASA AR1 19" in black, but if they do, call Tire Rack and ask if it will fit. I had the same issue with the ASA JH3's. I wanted the 18" wheel but it did not show up for the E90, only for the E46. I called and asked, and it will fit - just an oversight on their site.

On a Black Sap, I would not black out the grille and go with black wheels (I wouldn't even do it on a Jet Black one - too much black). If you want something different, go with gunmetal/anthracite finish on the rims and get a Carbon Fiber Grille. People sell them in the market place in this forum. Just search for "CF Grille" and "CF Grill". You could also add a CF rear spoiler to set it off. The CF color will match the anthracite rims, and look cool.

I'd also consider if you really want 19" rims. I had them and sold them as the ride was not to my preferance. With 19's you REALLY feel the road. It's not terrible, just different - so be prepared. It's clear that 18's don't look as cool, but if you are creative, you can still get a great look with an 18" rim and a good tire. It's cheaper and doesn't hammer your suspension as much.

Good luck with your search...

matt i guess its all preference. but after reading and looking at a lot of pics on e46fanatics, i think that black bimmers with blackedout grills, black wheels with silver lip, and nice tint looks amazing. look at this e46. i think its the meanest bimmer ive ever seen; and aparently majority of the black e46 owners agree on this. and ive already got tint so its just 2 more steps ;D

I will. Let's hope that I finally get it right this time. Third time lucky... I'm getting an 18x8 rim with 40mm offset. What size spacers do I need? 15mm? Any idea where to buy H&R Spacers? Also any idea on where to get longer black lug bolts?

I agree that it can look good, if you get it right, but that's a 330 coupe, which has a very aggressive, sporty, look. It's also an E46 and not an E90. Additionally, it's jet black and not black sap. It's like comparing an apple to an orange, they're both fruits that grow on trees, but they taste very different I saw a 650i the other day where someone had attempted the same thing, and it looked like sh*t.

Either way, you're right. It's all preferance. Just post pics when you're done

Black bolts, when you find them, you let me know, deal?! As for spacers, call James at Creativeautoworks!

i agree, it has to be very aggressive and lowered for black wheels to look nice. and that was jsut an example. there are tons of e46 sedans on their board that are just as low. that e46 has an aftermarket front bumper, e90's dont even have such a developed aftermarket yet. but, another e90 on this board that is jet black has his grill blacked out and has black wheels too. it doesnt look like sh*t in my opinion. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=hsiaochinsan
