no...................It took about 3 hours to do the installation and alightment.. My shop charged me $330 including alightment. Pretty fair price here in Bay Area. Don't let them eat your money!!!

WHOA!!!! $650 is just tooooooo much!! Dealer Book time insn't even that much!! It's like $400 for the springs! The most I got quoted was this and another $50 for the shocks!! Crazy! So I'm going to the same place as hsiaochinsan.

only 3 hours!! I think 3 hours is more reasonable
I wonder why they need 6 hours to done the work??
I used to install springs and alignment my old E46 in Taiwan.
It doesn't took that long.
although the guy told me they use Hunter 4-wheel aligment machine.
I still feel
If they are really BMW collision specialist.
They are not supposed to spend 6 hours on working on my car.
the only reason I guess is beacuse the more hours they spent, the more money they make??

I just called another shop
they charged me around $600
Is there any different way of alignment??
like 2 wheel or 4 wheel, different alingment machine??
sounds like choosing 4-wheel alignment at least cost over$600.

Mark, keep looking! There has to be a place in NY that doesn't charge soo much! Either way, you should get a 4-wheel alignment done.
Man, I thought the bay area was bad for pricing!

I already have my springs and spacer in my trunk.
that's why I think $650 is not reasonable.
I feel like I am a super idiot if I really spend over $600 on installation.

shops are going to charge alot though, as they didn't get to sell you the parts

you wouldn't bring oil to an oil change shop would you?

buying the springs is great if you're going to do the work yourself, but if you're going to have to pay a shop, you really should buy the springs from them. They will charge you more for the springs than the cheapest place you can find on the net, but they will install them for a reasonable price

I can either go back to the shop which charged me $650 for Whole work tomorrow(installation and 4-wheel alignment)
or go to another shop which charge me $300 but just for springs installation on next Tues(the guy told me he can send me to a place that have very good alignment machine)
but I have no idea about alignment price...$100 or more??

i got quoted $369 for the springs in Houston at a reputable shop, bavarian hyper speed (supposedly, ppl come from all u.s. here). Install was another $400.

I think its overpriced, but they said it takes 6-7 hours because the fronts are very hard, not like the E46, i forgot what he said but they have to remove something carefully. Rears are easy.

I did get one quote for $200 install.

Don't worry Mark, I'm in California too and I can't get $150 install price in my dreams. But still $330 for the install plus alignment is a pretty good deal...
