Piston Ring / Wall Honing recommendations?

I am going to have to replace a bent rod so I doing all the rings at the same time. I was thinking of just stock (or OEM brand). I see a lot of choices including some on eBay that are somewhat cheaper than many of the familiar BMW parts sites. I just want good rings and any advice on rings such as differing sizes if I have to hone out a decent amount on one cylinder, etc. The cylinder in question "looks" OK from underneath but I won't know if I have scratches on the cylinder wall until I pull the head. Speaking of that, I will need to get a drill hone to cross hatch the cylinders and it seems like the "ball" type ones maybe the way to go. Since the cylinders are 3.3" (84mm) wide what size ball hone have you used?
