Anyone know if you can leave the downpipe fix installed and active on a car with MHD? 2010 N54.

Thanks

It has been asked but the answer is no you need to remove with or without mhd. It is only ment to be installed temporarily.

Do not leave it installed, it'll throw off your lambda tables.

Thanks guys! I'm not new to the N54 scene but "back in the day", we had to remove it due to the reasons you guys listed. It sounds like things are still the same on that front.

Thanks

This is what everyone says, though I have mine dialed to the 0 (off) position and everything's been fine.

And does your O2 sensor stay "ready"?

No dash lights if that's what you mean, I haven't checked readiness indicators since I passed emissions. People on here have told me to remove it still, but my mechanic says it's fine to leave it on.

If you actually take the time to read how the dp fix works then you would figure out that it is going to do what people on here have said about messing up fuel trims. You might not "notice" anything but your car isn't going to be running fully optimal.

^+1 on this. It's not hard to install/uninstall, don't leave it on.

Why not just set it to zero then?

I have a 2010 335i n54 w MHDS2+93 and I have catless DP's and got shadow CEL codes 29F4/29F5 Catalytic-converter coversion/2.
I installed the VRSF Catless Downpipe Fix and it's on setting #6 and no related codes yet.

I'm still tuned and Catalyst is still showing as incomplete. Am I doing the test properly I haven't reset any cels yet to see if it shows up in the drive cycle im just over a 100 miles now.
Also in MHD settings should I select stock or catless downpipes for testing?

I've spent some time searching on here and google to learn more about how it works, but i'm not getting good info.
The install document says that the '11 pm setting will disable the dp fix altogether'. If set to 11pm, is it still in some way interfering or altering signals? Genuinely interested in learning as i'd like to know more, and I think this would be helpful to others as well.

There is a DIY here on a quick disconnect dp fix mod that solves any issues. Better to be safe than sorry!
