nice folk !

just want to say, what a nice, friendly and knowlegable bunch you all seem to be. got my 1st beemer (435d xdrive, 2017) less than 2 months ago, and absolutely loving it. talked into it by my 20yr old lad, who's 1st car after passing his test 18months ago was a 2012 318i, which he is looking to upgrade with an m3 when he has 2yrs ncb.
previous car was a merc gla45 amg, and before that an audi s3. the only thing that i miss about the merc is the exhaust sound, which was insane when you pressed the loud pedal !
in the process of upgrading it with a few visual mods, and finishing off with an engine and transmission remap. will post up pics when done, as you all know what a standard one looks like.
anyway, just saying

Welcome to the forum I agree, a great bunch on here and always a welcome respite from the real world, even when we are bantering about the real world!

As you say, everything you need to know about BMWs is to be found here.

Welcome to beemer ownership too, hopefully the 435 serves you well - coupe or gran coupe?

Yes indeed. There are a few lunatics here, but we have them well covered.

ah, forgot to add, as the young pup has his own wheels, we opted for the coupe. always liked the lines and shape of the 2 door, but when regularly using the rear seats, the 4 or 5 door is more suitable. oh, its in glacier silver with coral red interior as well, and looks good enough to lick !

Great colour combo, Silver really suits the Coupe and the Coral Red sets it off beautifully.

Enjoy your car!

Cheers

I will genuinely never understand how dull your life has to be to create multiple accounts on a car forum.

Each to his own, I guess.

So your son is 20 years old, passed his test 18 months ago and wants a M3 when he's got 2 years no claims?

Good luck insuring that!

he's actually got a quote - approx £1700, so not bad, considering that his 1st years insurance on the 318i was £1750 with a black box !
