Looking to add an intake BUT.....

Maybe this question is silly..

Im looking to improve the sound of my car, already added an exhaust but im thinking about getting an intake.

The popular ones like injen give you this WOOSH sound that to be honest i dont like much (maybe live it sounds better but nobody has them here so i just watch youtube videos), do all aftermarket intakes do this?

Most intakes I have heard will make this sound. Pretty sure the first generation injen is the loudest of the bunch. Injen did make a second generation intake but I am not sure if it is loud or not.

You can just replace the OEM filter with something like K&N.

Yah that sound is more less the point of an intake.

And I'd be careful with K&N, I'm starting to think the oiled filter f*cked up my MAF. I'd go with a good aftermarket dry filter like this: https://afepower.com/afe-power-31-10...y-s-air-filter

I'm planning on switching to that one and cleaning my MAF whenever I'm home from school next.

Good point. I was trying to think of a dry intake this morning but forgot the brand (haven't gotten a morning coffee yet =p). I was in the market for the AFe dry filter before I bought my injen intake. I did not want the hassle of an oiled filter.

I personally run oil, just need to make sure you measure the exact amount when re-oiling it.

If you do not like the whoosh sound, i suggest you get filters instead of intakes.
We offer Pipercross filters

Open air intakes will make the woosh sound (Injen, Mishimoto)
Closed air intakes will reduce the noise (Dinan)
