BMW Performance Driving School - M School

Anyone been?

Going next week to the Spartanburg location for the 1 day M School. Very excited, heard good things.

Definitely expensive, but after being a car enthusiast all my life I think it was time to play, plus I get to share the experience with my 65yr old father.

Will start doing some HPDE's next month as well.

I did Performance Center Delivery, which includes a mini M school. It was fantastic. You'll love it and that's great that you'll get to experience it with your Dad!

I've done it several times, here's a write up I did that outlines how things were at the Thermal location:

It's very similar in Spartanburg.

A blast! Addictive. I've been twice. PDC delivery gave me a taste. Now I'm looking for more opportunities.

There are a number of car clubs in your area sponsoring driving events in the region. I recommend starting with the Boston Chapter of BMWCCA:

http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/events/...-calendar.aspx

The club's driving events at regional race tracks are over with for this year, but the Advanced Car Control Clinic that Doug Brown is heading up is something that you'd likely have a ton of fun with while improving your driving skills in a fashion that will be useful in day-to-day driving, including in the winter:

http://www.boston-bmwcca.org/events/...px?EventID=985

For pure winter car control work, it's hard to beat the North Atlantic Audi Club's two winter car control clinics at the O'Neil Rally School in northern New Hampshire. They too are incredibly fun while teaching you new and very useful car control skills, whether in the winter, in the wet, or in the dry. More here:

https://audiclubna.org/north-atlanti...ary-27-28th-2/

and here:

https://audiclubna.org/north-atlanti...eb-24-25-2018/

My 2¢ worth on these events is this: don't think about attending them - just go!

Just got back from the 1 days M Performance School yesterday - definitely a blast and worth the $1500. The 2 day has to be even better but is definitely a lot of money to throw down on a car event.

If anyone has done the M School @ the Spartanburg facility, my best timed run was 21.05 in the M2, which was the fastest lap of the day. I believe I had a few tenths left in me with another few laps. Fastest instructor lap record was a 20.4x. Also won the rat race on the watered down oval track.
