Identifying existing tunes on used car?
Good morning everyone,
About 2 months ago I bought a project 335i. I had my local mechanic check out the engine and it was in good shape despite the car being neglected for about a year. I also had walnut blasting done at this time. After replacing all six injectors along with coding, six new NGK plugs and six new coils the car was running better but not great. I then installed DPs and had the secondary cats removed as one of them was clogged and the car is running amazing. Then logging started... this car was boosting to 15PSI on stock map.. except it wasn't stock as it had a tune of some sort. I ended up buying the full MHD package since I don't really want to be running the car with a tune that I'm not familiar with. My question issssss... is there a way to tell if the stock transmission has been tuned with xHP or Alpina?

Usually with a transmission tune, you will see the gear indications on the dash changed to D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6 or S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6 this is assuming you are 6AT...
Stock usually just says D for drive and DS for sport. |
