New guy joining the club
Hey everyone, just want to pop in and say hello. I picked up my first BMW yesterday, a CPO 2016 228i with 6MT. It has 39k on the odometer - the dealer I purchased from wanted $899 to transfer the new car maintenance to me. Does anyone know of a more affordable option to transfer this maintenance? Is it even worth it? I traditionally always did my own maintenance but I like the idea of simply not having to worry about it for the next couple years.
Anything in particular I should check being new to the BMW world? Anyway nice to "meet" everyone. |

If you're only getting the remainder of the 4 year maintenance contract, I guess it would depend on the "in service" date as to how much time you have left on the contract, but regardless, it doesn't sound like much of a deal to me.

I would pass and save that towards doing your own maintenance. That is if you are inclined to do that. The 228 is easy to maintain.

Yo, this was from BMW Ft. Lauderdale? Listed at 21,488? I was eyeing this very hard, liked how simple it was with the baseline model, low mileage, 1-owner Carfax, clean & simple color.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you wind up paying pre-tax/tags/fees? You get it lower than asking price? |

Wow, good eye! This is exactly that car. I got them down to $20,669. They would not go any lower, I tried hard to get it under 20k. I'm very happy with the purchase, but the long drive from Orlando was not fun.

I'll bet the drive back was a little better! That's awesome, I think you got a good deal. But they did email me back the other day specifically stating that the car was gone and had sold at the full $21,488... lmao. Enjoy the car!
