Collision and hood wont open

Minor collision. Hood is slightly bent around P side latch. Grills were smashed.

My hood won't open. P side latch is stuck. I am able to reach the underside of the latch but I don't know which way to pry or push.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

ETA: My 7 year old came back from camp so I told her to pull the hood latch lever while pushed down on the P side latch. We did that and I was able to open the hood.

The hood won't close until I can replace the latches.

might help if we had pictures. In the past i just used a flat crow bar to pop the hood latch then replaced it, or a flat screwdriver that was bent.
