we went to the dealer with car seats and tested it out hehe..

i had a 2015 c300 sedan before.. and i find it easier to fit the kids in this car than the sedan because the sedan had the seats limiting the front space when they get in and out...

I don't know how child safety works, but I know they should be seated lower for better cornering.

You skipped an important part in your video - seat belts

I waited until my kids were 5 years old before getting a 2 door car.

My kids were 3 and 6 when I bought my M2; they're now 4 and 7.

There were quite a few 2 seat cars that I'd have considered instead of the M2, but I needed to be able to carry the kids if I'm looking after them and want to go anywhere. My wife's car is the 'family' car, but she won't drive the M2 (or any other car I was planning to buy), so 4 seats was essential.

My 4 year old is pretty big, so now we use booster seats that have straps to pull the seat belt down lower and attach to the latch anchors in the base of the seat. I have protective mats under the booster seats to protect the seat and the kids love it.

At the most recent local M2 meet up in my area, another family brought their son along for the meet and subsequent drive.

It's not that unusual.

seatbelts ? those are part of the child seat,

these are not boosters....

boosters are even lower profile, but it's too soon for it

I put both mine in the back - they're 7 and 3. Works great and they absolutely love the car, especially my little boy. I'm really glad the lack of back doors didn't keep me from getting the M2 - it was a debate I was having with myself. My wife actually told me to go for the M car because she could tell how much I liked it.

I thought the car seats would come up during some of the autocrosses / track days I ran but it nobody ever noticed until my most recent autocross. I told them I keep the car seats in so I can hit the track right after I drop the kids off at school

5.5 and 2.5 year olds here and we take it every morning. I'm 6'4" so it works but can get a little tight when little man wants to stretch his legs in his car seat.

I have an eight 8 year in the back with front facing car seat

You guys make me envious with the one click seat moving forward. On the M2C, you have to keep it held down to keep it moving. Neither single click or double click on the button makes it move forward all the way. The manual says single click, but nope, it does not work.

Maybe it's just my seat choice but my 6mo old in her rear facing seat barely fits. I have to move the seat completely forward or keep the seat folded down. Also I'm short 5'8 and when my also short wife 5'4 sits behind me to be with the kid, she has zero leg and knee room.

So is what you're all saying, is when they're forward facing the car seat situation will be better? I've been using the current situation as an excuse for a g80 ED vacation lol.

I'm 6'4" as well and consider my M2 a three seater.

Have done booster and rear facing when bringing one of my three along for rides.

We have two seven seaters for regular kid duty but I still like the option to bring a kid along in the M2. Primary reason I scratched the Cayman off my list when I got rid of my RS4.

Rear facing carseats in a 2 door coupe are always going to be tough.

I currently have two front facing carseats for my 3 and 1 year old, and it's a piece of cake getting them in. I'm 5'8" as well. It takes a few seconds to bring the front seats forward and get the kids in the carseats. It's been great since I can take the kids out for weekend drives while the wife gets a break.

If you can hold out until it's safe for a front facing seat, you'll be fine.
