Want to introduce myself and had a few ?'s
Hi My name is Samantha. I have a white 2008 328I coupe w/ the sports package. I have had it about 2 months now and am ready to put some additions on it. I am already planning on the M aero kit and a spoiler and of course the windows will be tinted! But i need some advice as to how to get some more power under her hood! Any body out there willing to share secrets?
Pictures to come tomorrow or Tuesday |

Sam, not a whole lot can be done on an N/A engine. But you can always do intake and exhaust to start. You're from my neck of the woods. I grew up in Lex. Park. Welcome to the forum. Don't forget pix.

There isn't much you can do as stated- Intake, exhaust, and an ECU reflash, but the flash will void your warranty with minimal gain so I would wait until its over. Start with some cosmetic parts like blackline tail lights |

I do realize that there is a search, but as mentioned in the title of my thread, I wanted to introduce myself and had a few questions to start some conversation. Does anyone have a recommendation for exhaust? I have seen some axle back systems on Ebay and some full systems from Dinan etc. But for 6hp from the full $1200 system, is it worth it compared to the axle back muffler? I also thought of buying the needed parts for the underside to do a dual system custom from the exhaust shop.
As far as the ECU, who has software for it? What kind of gains are considered minimal? Thanks, Sam Last edited by Sexy BMW Girl; 07-07-2008 at 09:55 AM.. |

If I do that I will hurt all the little boys feelings who have these mustyangs and GTO's. All I want to do is make them cry a little and pout. If they ever come out with a supercharger for it, I will get that. Everyone knows a 335 is twin turbo but no one ever expects a 328 to be very fast.

Well after reading through some of the post here in the NA section, I think my first mod ( for power ) is going to be the muffler delete. Wednesday I have the tint guy coming to work to give 30% so it should look good. Then its a rear spoiler and springs to tighten up the ride.

Welcome Sam!
My advice save the cash on the exhaust, it'll give you some gains but nothing that can make the mustang guys pout and cry a bit. If anything you don't want to be "that BMW driver," who has the exhaust tone but no real power to back it up when a GT rolls up on you. Wait for a chip or just do a straight swap as suggested earlier. N/A engines are not known for huge HP gains with simple bolt ons. Good luck! |

Thank you for the warm welcome's so far. Has anyone ever sprayed a little NOS? How would that work with the the ignition timing being its self adjusting. It will compensate itself if there is any detonation, right?

back when i had my 325 i realized that i couldnt get that much power out of it, but you can still but an exhaust system on it to give it a more agressive sound, i went with the eisenmann muffler.

Settle down Waynebo, I will have pictures up later...Keep in mind as I had said earlier I would rather supercharge it, so dont call me a "RICER" or anything like that. I have never owned a japan import before and this is my first German car. All others have been American made muscle and throtle in a bottle was a fun way to go.

There aren't a ton of options for the NA 328 engine but here are a couple of upgrades I recommend:
Simota CF Style Intake Eisenmann Exhaust for 325, 328, 330 |

Welcome to E90Post...
You'd better post your pic so all the hormone charged boys can settle down a bit The NA motors in their current form aren't that quick if you're up against high HP Mustangs and such. It's an uphill battle anyways since it's hard to argue against them when it comes to high HP/liter numbers. The thing that BMW's bring to the table is the all around aspect of driving performance. It's not about how many liters you push but what you can do overall.. in a nutshell. If you want to race ponies... learn how to use what you have at the track and tear them a new one when you hit that corner and they slop around the same corner. If you were looking for straight line speed, you should have gotten a 335 and I would stay away from ECU mods. I don't think anyone here has seen a consistent dyno after 6 months of ownership. If you search, you'll see all sorts of promises and then the ECU will reset and make the flash worthless. |

I didn't get the 335 b/c I couldn't afford it at the time. So I just have to make do with what I have for now. I would love to get a GT too. Kloogy, how's your GT and 328 compare? Stock for stock....
