That's where the insurance fails ok so the guy has spent that much on his pride and joy to him its something that he liked and wanted to look the part, so he gets £2700 his trouble and whatever they decided the car was worth, obviously it will have been worth more than that to him will he be able to replace the vehicle with like for like with that amount of cash I doubt it.

When a vehicle is crashed and written of the same applies but I think in this case the council has failed in their duty and should be made to compensate the victim more. Put it this way if you stole a car and were caught you could end up in detention yet this lot are getting off without any criminal penalties'.
