New Wheels on E90 - What size spacers?

Im sure this has been asked but I coudln't find a good answer. I have the stock 17s and may buy some aftermarket 17s. The wheels I am looking at are 17x7.5 ET 42. My question is, will these be any more flush to the fender than my stock wheels or will i still need spacers? What a good offset to get flush or close to it on the E90 LCI?

EDIT: I need spacers for sure now. What size will get me flush in the front and rear considering my new wheel size?

You will definitely need spacers, flush would be more like a front 9in et 30 and 9.5et33 rear

I like this fitment calculator https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/

Plugging in the wheel specs you provided and assuming 225/45-17
Tire is 18 mm closer to suspension components. Rim is 14 mm closer to suspension components. Tire will stick out 2 mm farther

I'm running 17x9 et30 with 255/40-17 and compared to stock
Tire is 21 mm closer to suspension components. Rim is 21 mm closer to suspension components. Tire will stick out 29 mm farther. Rim will stick out 29 mm farther

So to 46m3csl's point, if you're looking for flush, you'll definitely need spacers.

Wheels are squared, 17x7.5 et42. I was never sure what size my stock wheels were but i think they were the OEM BMW 159's which i believe are 17x8 et 34?
