pirelli or michelin 4s?

doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason on which tires are coming on the CP model. i'm seen a healthy mix of both. for the f80, it was pretty universal that the competition package = michelin

anyone know if there is something i'm missing here?

We here in the UK seem to get the Michelins, which IMO are the best tyres for this car.

I just did eurodelivery on a competition and had the pirellis. This the first of my m's that I lost the tire lottery on. No rhyme or reason.

Pirellis are garbage. Get Michelin’s if you have a choice.

I wouldnt take the car unless it came with Michelins or if it came with the Pirellis, I would ask the dealer to swap them out for Michelins before I take possession.

My non CP came with Michelins, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason, maybe you just had good luck every time in the past.

Both are quality threads. I find that P's wear less than M's, slightly. My FE came with P's even though I was hoping for M's. I'm happy either way. They won't last long anyways on my ride.

They are garbage. If there is a positive - they are quiet. The only other positive is me taking them off my car and buying a set of PS4's - using those next season and beyond so I can truly see what the car is capable of- and then putting the Pirelli's back on when I give my car back at the end of the lease.

I’ve had many cars with both the Pirelli P Zero and the PS4’s (same car). Having read many threads about how much better the Michelin’s are, for me, I see little to no difference between the two Inc terms of handling. The pirellis did last a tad longer, were quiet and I have had no complaints. That said, I was hoping for the Michelin’s on my incoming 18 M5 (tomorrow I’m told), but it has Pirelli’s and I’ll be just fine.

My 19 M5C came with 4s, and was pleased.

My F10 had pirellis when I bought it and I could barely notice a change between the two, very minor differences. Ps were a bit softer and just a hair less grippy compared to the 4s.

I've got an F90 with Michelins, and another car that I put Pirellis on.

Both are great tires. No problems with the Pirellis at all.

If you guys are genuine racing drivers then maybe you notice a major difference, but if you're just regular joe M5 owners I think it's mostly all in your head.

Just picked up my 19 M5 Comp on Saturday and it came with the Michelin tires!!! I have been extremely lucky with tires and my last 3 BMWs. 15 M4, 17 M2, and now the 19 M5 all have come with Michelin tires!
