Guys any info, LOUD disturbing sound!

Got this loud sound, looks like coming from the sound system. This is the 3rd time it happens, started in the end of July, end of August and now September really weird. I drive off and after a couple of minutes the noise starts. Have to turn off car, lock it and wait for the alarm to sound for it to stop. Found some old threads about weird buzzing sounds coming from the systems, but not a lot of help. If anything let me know.

Look at your iDrive screen. It's a warning buzzer.

I don't know. That sounds weird.

Looks like he's in reverse and the back-up sensors are picking something up, but my warning tone sounds nothing like that.

I tried all the tones available through coding. BMW, Mini, Rolls, and none of them sound like that.

I don't have any sound like that but I also don't get screen warnings like that, so I assume we don't have the same exact system. Maybe it's blind spot? The movement on the screen coincides with the buzzing, that's not likely a coincidence.

It doesn't look like the motion has anything to do with the buzzing. The buzzing starts at random, not when there is motion. And there is no way that buzzing is part of the warning system. That is obviously some error. There may be a corruption of the sound files since we don't hear any beeping from the parking sensors. Probably needs new software.

Yeah I have the Navi on reverse cause I just parked, but yeah the buzzing starts at random while driving, no errors or codes. I'll see what I do, Thanks for the info guys!

Do you get a normal gong when you start the car and the seatbelt isn't fastened? Are you able to set the volume of the various warning tones?

I'm not able to set up the volume while the noise is happening, the radio goes out, volume doesn't work and yes I get the normal gong at start up.

Are you getting a phone call with Bluetooth connected when this happens? Sounds kinda ridiculous, but the cadence of the beeps reminds me of an incoming call.

No phone call when its connected or happening, it just happens randomly. It just happen to again about an hour ago, I was talking on the Bluetooth, finished talking, turn off car, locked it and the sound came out of nowhere. Its really loud and annoying.

That's a dead amp, you need a new one. Likely damaged by water ingress. It's in the trunk under the cover on the left.

Wow! most likely it was damage by water like u said, I have an appointment tomorrow at dealer, Thanks for info.
