Closing the Tailgate FROM INSIDE THE CAR

The button shown in the attached photo opens the tailgate. But it does not close the tailgate. Is it supposed to? I have found no way to close the tailgate from inside the car.

It does, but you have to hold it until it is completely closed.

By default it will close by pulling up and hold until it is fully closed.
Or, you can code it to close by a single press from door button or keyfob.
