Lane Change Assist
Hi all,
I saw some video that shows the lane change assist on X3 with Drive Assistance Plus. Do you guys know if we get this on US models? I tried on my 2019 s30i but seems not working or I'm not doing the activation correctly. The adaptative cruise control and the lane keep assisting works nice in my case. |

It works on my 2019. What you have to do while under ACC and LKA is to use the turn signal by not going past the click to where the turn signal would stay on. Just hold it near the resistance point and the car will change lanes when it's safe to do so. You have to hold it for the entire lane change.
I don't think I'd really use it since it takes to long to make the lane change. But it does work. |

I’m in the U.S. This did not work in my 18. It will be interesting if this feature has been unlocked in 2019 vehicles. My understanding is this feature was available at launch in other countries but not in the U.S.

have not been able to get it to work in my 19 M40i....It is in my manual and does not state any geographic or option restriction or language like "If available"
It just does not work. Dealer had no idea and no idea who to call or ask |

I had absolutely no idea about this feature, but tried it yesterday on a long trip. It definitely works, but I don’t really find it that useful as you have hold down the signal until the wheel starts to turn.
Then you can let go, and it will find the new lane automatically. I would say it starts to turn after about 4-5 blinks. Shows that autonomous driving is definitely not that far away.

Maybe I didn't wait long enough on my 2018 but when I tried it several times the car lost the lane markings each time (green lanes turned gray) and didn't move over.

Then you should definitely read the manual ASAP.

Didn’t go too well ... as I hit the indicator, the car in front changed lanes and the ACC sped up... then the car still tried to change lane but we’d caught up with another car in the lane I was moving into... at which point my car just gave up and I had to manually take the car back to the original lane to avoid the other car

When using it once the system acknowledges the lane change the lane marker on dash starts flashing on the side you are moving to, you can then release the indicator at that point, it cancels pretty quickly if you turn back steering wheel or fully indicate |

The manual says the road must be divided with a barrier....not sure if that is the case or not but it did not work in that situation either.... |

This can be coded on MY18 and MY19 G01s with the right hardware. I coded it on my M40i.
It works but it's not worth the effort. I'm gonna turn it off next time I code my car.

This wasn't in the early 2018 X3 builds as this tech only came about late in 2017 and frankly, when it was in the X3, I actually thought it never made it to the US models, but I guess from what I read here, it did? (seeing that I see folks from the US saying it works)
