Charcoal filter delete

Confirmed that Canadian cars also have the charcoal filter - which I removed.

Interesting also that the bottom of the air box under the air filter in the corners also has a mesh maybe 2 inch x 2inch that exposes it to under hood air intake temps.

Maybe the comp version has the plate like the F10 did. If someone can confirm ?

Nope, looks like the same configuration.

Is removing it just for better airflow?

Certainly less restrictive; I did this on both of my F10 M5's along with drop-ins and sounded a bit better.

Whether you go this route or intakes the performance gains are minimal IMO and more about looks (intake) and sound (both charcoal delete and more so intakes).

Charcoal delete + drop-ins cost next to nothing which is nice.
