N47 engines failing rate statistics
In my country there is a trend in replacing the timing chain on any N47 engine, no matter is early 2007 or late 2013.
Wikipedia states: The most seriously affected units which require the most extensive repairs were produced from 01.03.2007 to 05.01.2009. My common sense would say that probably delivered better N47 engines in the F30; meaning that N47 engines with 184hp delivered after 2012 should not be that error prone as those used in the E90 10 years ago. Do we have any official statistics or any reliable source regarding the timing chain reliability of an N47 inside an F30 ? |
