M sport 20" Tire size clarification
Will the 20" option 740 wheel be a square set up? From the usa site it looks like front and rear are the same. On the European site the details are a little different.
Aluminum rims styling 740 M 20 "bicolor 0 € BMW M 20 "alloy wheels, 740 M star spoke spokes, Bicolor Orbitgrau, with mixed tires, polished lathe, front 9 J x 20, tires 275/45 R 20, rear 10.5 J x 20, tires 305/40 R 20. So was just wondering which is it? Last edited by yvnrg1981; 09-07-2018 at 01:33 PM.. |

The (USA) Pricing Guide reflects a square set up for 1TD 20" M Star-spoke bi-color wheels, style 740M with all-season run-flat tires
(20x9.0, 275/45 R20).

Switching to a performance RFT in the US will get you the staggered wheel setup. The all-season tires are square setup.

All BMWs use active TPMS as far as I know. Sensors are in valve stem.

I love the staggered setup and looking at the order guide, in the US , it is available only in 21" (744 regular Y-spoke with perf. RFTs ; 741 M Y-spoke bi-color also with perf. RFT) and 22 " (742M double spoke bi-color, perf non-RFT). I like the non-RFT option, but don't want to choose the 22" rim - would like some sidewall, so 21" is my preferred option to get back a little bit for ride comfort as well. Thinking of getting this setup and then switching out the tires to Conti DWS06's . Sorry for the silly question here, but can I ask my dealer to swap out the tires? I'd hate to buy a set of new tires that I won't use anyway and pay another $1k to get a new set of shoes. Anybody do something similar in the past ? |

Was casually checking them out on Tirerack ...Used the 2018 x5 model as a starting point even though the sizes aren't the same for the 2019 version. Thank you for the heads-up. For the 2019 model, Tirerack only has the tires listed for the 22" rims, which are too thin for my personal preference. If you search by size I am sure you will find decent options ... but I have been too lazy to do that yet |

DWS06 - this part is indeed true - only 22" listed for the 2019 model. I hope this will change in the next few months ... |

They were still showing DW and likely could have gone a while longer if winter wasn't around the corner. What setup did you have to only get 18k miles? |
