Happy New Car Day to me

Picking up my new M2 Lci today. I'm new to proper M product, anything I need to know? Or anything I need to ask before I leave the showroom?

My job has allowed me to drive some really very nice cars and I've also owned a few decent ones but I'm really looking forward to this one

Roll on midday.......

Consider turning off the ASD.

If you notice girls looking at you while you're driving, it's not you - it's the car.

Remember that you are in the UK, so you will be driving on the wrong side of the road.

Congrats! Looking at the time you are likely on the road by now... enjoy!

Personally I stayed in Comfort mode during my break in... and pretty much all Sport+ all the time after that. But nothing wrong with going into Sport or Sport+ as long as you behave. Sport+ really changes the entire feel of the car and makes it more alive.

Also, don't forget to go into Traction mode and giggle like a school girl when your car burbles like crazy.

Hope you won the tire lottery (or, tyre lottery to you) and got the Michelins.

Congrats, post pictures!

As someone else mentioned, turning off the Annoying Sound Device (or whatever that artificial engine noise amplifier is called) is often one of the first modifications.

Congrats! As it was already mentioned, getting rid of the ASD is a first step for many. You can do this with coding or by installing the Technic PNP Bypass Harness: https://technicpnp.com/product/asd-bypass-harness/

The factory installed PPF on the rear quarters is subpar quality and not large enough to protect the rear quarter panel sufficiently. You might want to consider having that swapped out with a larger piece of higher quality film that also won't yellow over time.

There's a ton of great information on this forum and some very helpful members. Take some time to poke around and you'll learn more about your new M2 than you probably care to know!

What a great car!! I part exchanged a 435d x-drive and I thought that was fast and nimble.... This M2 is fantastic

That's for the advice all. Answered all I think..

Will take a view on the ASD

I thought the girls were looking at me

I enjoyed the drive

I am on the right side of the road

I drove out of central London so a mixture of Comfort and Sport, manual and auto and plenty of Traction mode..... I kept most of Park Lane and Edgware Road awake

Continentals.... Not so bad..... Last car were Conti's and was ok.

I will post pictures over the weekend

ASD was fine on my M235i but very annoying in the M2 and even more with the MPE Exhaust.

I am glad I removed it (coding) and you can always put it back if you want to.

That's really pretty. I would probably add the M Performance lip spoiler and black kidneys.

What a beauty! I remember driving along Park Lane and Edgware Rd. It was my first time driving in the UK.

ASD is heinous. In Sport/Sport+ it honestly makes me feel like there is pressure in my ears like I'm under water.

Bypass harness eta next week.
