Nice!
What do you mean ddc (2 axel air including "ddc")?

ok. In your country, did ordering the 2 axle air delete the adaptive M suspension? or is that the DDC?
my central question is: with air suspension, do you still get the sport mode suspension (button)?

There is no m adaptive suspension here. Only air 2 axle here as it's standard. I think m adaptive is just ddc.

Dynamic Damper Control (DDC) is now standard on G05.

Dynamic Damper Control uses electronically controlled dampers. Driver can select damper settings using the Driving Experience Control switch: Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport – for a more comfort-oriented or sportier driving style.

Just think of DDC as preprogrammed fixed driving styles.

2VF Adaptive M suspension is DDC tuned sportier (springs/bars) and adds Adaptive DEC switch - lets the car decide what suspension/throttle/steering settings are best given current driving conditions.

Will be interesting when these start to ship. Mine says it is built but awaiting a carrier. My guess is they have not been released yet. Hard to say.

I agree. Right now we are all just guessing. I have heard of some journalists getting to drive the G05 "very soon", so I'm anxious to hear what they'll have to say.

Yes. My dealer had a build in flight to make sure they had all their allocations used up and was able to modify it to my spec before the system locked down.

I will have one of the launch cars here. Infact I have to wait an extra month because they will use one of the cars from my shipment to certify the car emissions so this model is certified. They cannot register my car until that's done.

Awesome you were able to modify an order...but timing must still be killing you...you have to wait weeks for a shipment from NC to Hong Kong and then another month to get certified. Ug.

I have heard that there won’t be any customer deliveries or dealer cars arriving at dealerships until November. Any truth in that? I’d really like to see one before ordering. Just can’t jump in till it passes the in-person eye test. Thx

Well in my case me the dealer had special incentives for those who bought the car that were 2018 production. They made it worth taking the risk. Free upgrade to 21in rims, Crafted clarity and free upgrade from Park assistant to plus. Given the 115pc tax on options it was an easy decision for me.

I wish I was as lucky.

Congrats on your order. I see your order includes Merino leather interior. I've been informed by my CA that he is not able to place an order for me because his system states all merino leather options are delayed until next April because BMW supplier is backlogged to fill 50i builds. Is there something I can tell my CA to find a way around this delay?

Our order is in with Tartufo Merino leather. Week 41. We placed the order about a month ago...

I don't understand your CA's info though. The 50i doesn't come standard with Merino, and the 50i is going to be a FAR smaller percentage of total orders. So why would it be the cause for Merino being back ordered? From the order guide, only the Amarone/Black Merino leather is delayed until 04/19.

Placed my order on Saturday

X5 40i (50i not available here )
M Sport Package
Black Sapphire Metallic, shadowline exterior trim
22 inch wheels style 742M
Coffee Vernasca Leather with Fineline Stripe Brown Wood Trim

Selected Options:
2-axle air Suspension
Integral Active Steering
Pano roof
Laserlight
Driving Assistant Pro
Parking Assistant Plus
Entertainment Package
M Exhaust & M Brakes
to name a few....

What I may yet add:
leather dashboard (CA said standard would be sensatec but I believe that is incorrect, only true for M50d)
4-zone automatic climate control (according to CA this only affects 2nd row but from what I have read it makes a difference in the 1st row as well, i.e. full color display?)
Glass controls (does look pretty cool at second glance)
-> Need to see this in real life

What I skipped on purpose:
Head Up Display- vehicle already has 2 large screens.... enough for me
Comfort Access keyless entry - makes it a lot easier for thieves
soft close doors (not good when you have small children... finger-door-ouch)

Delivery in March 2019

Thoughts?

I have a very similar build.... can you tell me why you got certain options and why you skipped others?
- 4 Zone climate - useful only if you have kids riding in the 2nd row?
- Adaptive LED, why not laser lights?
- Display key - really useful for everday? It seems very big.
- Crafted clarity crystal knob....not sure about that. May be too much bling bling

You already sold me on the leather dash
