seems like they reprogramed the rev match
One thing i have noticed is the rev match seems to work better. On my OG it revved to quick and unless you let out the clutch really fast the rpms dropped and it wasn't smooth, basically the timing was off. The M2C feels like it works better. carl

I think that is mainly because the software of the M3/M4 is in there... Gearbox might fit better to that engine.

On the OG, the rev match speed also depends on the mode the car is in (Comfort vs. sport/+), never felt it was "too fast" though.

Is there an easy way to turn it off on the M2C?

RPM decay on these cars is so slow it's ridiculous. By the time I've shifted the rpm has barely dropped, resulting in rough shifts. Presume this is better in dct cars. Too fast? Maybe if it had a lightweight flywheel, but that would probably be perfect! Yeah, obviously the programming is completely different, it's a different motor and transmission. |

BMW apparently changed it in the latest software for F80/F82 as well. Several members on the F80 forum reporting that their M3/M4s have rev matching even in Sport+ too (June/July build dates). They say only way to turn it off now is to fully turn off the DSC.

They changed the motor not the rev match. The fact is, the N55 is a free reving motor and the rev match is intrusive. The S55 is very different and more lethargic down low, so you notice it less.
My 2 cents moving from a M2 where the rev match drove me cray cray to the M3 where it is much more livable.

Everything is different silly - probably even the computer that runs the engine and yes, the software not the firmware

Firmware is software. The DME runs on an MCU, in the industry this is typically called firmware. |
