I'm new to BMW and don't know much about engines. I was about to fill my washer fluid when I noticed this today.

Is it me or is my engine missing something??

I think that's where the flux capacitor is supposed to bolt in.

No idea.. I'll have to look at mine (although it's a 325).

Fear not, Fleet will know. You'd think if nothing goes there they would insert a blank or something.

Its actually a threaded hole used to screw in a hook used in manufacturing to move the engine around

Then there is probably another one on the opposite side toward the rear for balance?

Yes, but that one is cast into the block ( just like on most other BMW engines)

Its been scanned through final inspection and into the Distribution centre asof yesterday

So it either hasnt caught a truck yet, or arrived at the dealer late this afternoon and the little sales girl didnt phone me

And now next week tuesday is a public holiday here and the car needs 1 day for the PDI and 1 day for insurance tracking device installation.

So looks like a bit of a wait to go

Doesn't it always seem like there is a holiday or weekend or something just to screw up getting a car/package? Everytime I order something I really want, it always sits in a wharehouse over the weekend. Damn weekends and holidays!

When our E91 arrived on a Monday... that week was Yom Kippur and my CA is Jewish.. so we couldn't pick her up until Friday evening. Such is life. At least you know it will be soon!
