Just got a 2011 335is with only one key and need to order another, because I’m not living dangerously...

Spent some time searching E9x forums and didn’t see any decent sources other than the local dealer. For earlier models (E46, E39, etc.) I always ordered from thebmwminipartstore.com with a specific cut key part number and that worked well. For the E92, I’m having trouble getting the part numbers for a remote and cut key.

Looked them up on realoem.com and found these part numbers:
Remote: 66126986583
Key: 51217139710
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=41_1759

Then found these on thebmwminipartstore.com:
https://thebmwminipartstore.com/part...&siteid=218365
https://thebmwminipartstore.com/part...&siteid=218365

The prices are good and it looks like the correct remote, but the key itself is uncut?

Soooo, what are other people doing to get the factory stuff at decent prices?

I've seen that website "thebmwminipartstore.com" pop up on other forums for different generations of bmws. Looks like the best prices around......but i'm hesitant to give my drivers license info out to the internet.

I’ve purchased a few diamond keys from them over the years and haven’t been hacked yet, but YMMV...

Confirmed with them the key is cut and those are the correct part numbers, so I placed the order. Total including shipping was $211.50. Not bad.

You should add BMW of Morristown to your list of parts places. Same part is $147.75 and the blank is $37. They beat everyone 99% of the time.

Will do, thanks!

I also should have used SilberVogel’s parts price comparison app.

Yep, that's a great little tool. I use it all the time.
