Here's my story....I have an 08 328i.
I received a Yi Dashcam as a gift (http://a.co/i6og0oq).
I followed the directions to wire it to the reverse light in the trunk.
Ran into a strange wiring / electrical bug.

When the car is on but the motor is not (press start with foot off the brake) the mirror works fantastic, both front & rear cameras show, put it in reverse and the parking assist screen comes on automatically.

When the car is on with the motor started (press start foot on the brake) both cameras come on no issue, but when i put the car in reverse nothing happens. The parking assist is not triggered to come on!
i have checked the light i have it wired to and the light does come on in both instances.
Why would the parking assist be triggered when the motor is not running but not when it is?

I installed the AUTO VOX X1 and I have no issues I hard wired it into my 12v. Ran the back up camera to the back and wired it into my reverse light. Are you using the cigarette adapter or it is hard wired?
