How to make stock wheels flush with fender ?

Got stock wheels, how do you make them flush with the fender. Don't really want to use spacers.

Can I switch the tires from 205-55-16 to 225-50-16 ?

That's not going to make them flush. So you're wanting to go w/ a slightly wider track/width on the tires, and slightly lower in profile then, but on 16s? Upgrade to 18s or 18s (second hand if needed, if you're on a budget). Spacers may need to be required depending on the offset.

If you have 16's, get different wheels.

Right? As long as you use hubcentric quality spacers, you're good to go. Just be sure you get the correct length/type bolts to go along with them. Don't fear the spacers man, a shit ton of enthusiasts use them.

+1

If you do your due diligence and measure properly spacers are just fine. I’m using them on my car, no issues. I suggest getting ones that match your rims silver/black. You won’t even notice them.

I would definitely upgrade from the 16s tho, Any tire will look skinny on those.

^ haha exactly.

I have nothing against spacers. I use them. I do hate how so many people with E9x's use 10mm spacers, but I won't get into that right now. But what I'm saying is that OE 16" wheels aren't going to look very sporty no matter what he does, so I'd start with new wheels if I was the OP. I bet you could buy a set of 17's, if not basic 18's, for almost as little as a set of spacers. Of course, he'll need both.

If you want the tires flush with the fender, you are gonna need spacers and wider tires. If you want the upper portion of the fender closer to the tire (wheel gap) you are gonna need a lowering kit.

16" rims & 205 width on a BMW.... wholy no handling Batman.

If you are in the market for new tires, now is the time to get new rims.

I'd get some 18" replica M3/M4 rims off eBay for around $600-700.00. Just make sure you buy from a reputable dealer is all. The kind of seller that has 99% approval rating and has over 10,000 reviews. They are out there.

18 x 8.5 minimum

https://m.ebay.com/itm/18-Wheels-For...4/252232942465

Tires - Michelin or Continental are the prevailing choices on the forums. Michelin's are the better tire, but you will pay $$$ for them.

Width - depends if you want to go square or have a staggered set up.

Square - 235/40/18 or 245/40/18

Staggered - 235/40/18 - front
255/35/18 - rear

If you get 18 x 9.0 rims, the world is your oyster as far as the types of setups you can run.

Spacers - 12mm up front
15-20mm in rear

The rear might depend on how wide you go in the rear, if you do a staggered setup.

BMS makes a good set of spacers. VRSF also makes a nice set too.

BMS and VRSF are the same spacers. They're just fine, but there is better out there for the more discerning. Apex Race Parts and Turner make great spacers and sell nicer bolts, too.

its going to be hard to make the wheels sit flush with the fenders without some type of spacers. Furthermore the car is going to look weird as the tires do not sit straight. So the top of the tire may be flush but the rest is going to stick out

So you would probably need to adjust the camber , which would affect the handling of the car.

Also keep in mind if the car is somewhat lowered you are going to rub , so you ll probably need to roll the fenders , even them it may still rub

I ve been through this for 2 months and it is a pain in the butt. So I settle with the wheels tucked in a little bit , no rubbing , no tires sticking out ( well a little bit ) and leaving the camber the way it is . I m also using spacers 12 mms, which I have been using for years without any issues, no vibrations at all

Notice I said "good" spacers and not "great".

I think that a quality set of spacers would be a short term solution. Perhaps a set of 18" wheels with an appropriate offset would be the best solution. I would get under the car, visually inspect the components, measure between the tire and shock/strut then the fender to determine possible spacer size or offset needed.

Go to the Wheel section and use the calculator there.
For example, 8" wide ET20 wheels make for a flush setup in the front. The rear depends on LCI or not.

how can you make it flush without adjusting the camber

it may look flush up top but the tires are going to stick out everywhere else , making it look wider like it does not belong there and you are trying too hard

I am lowered with eibach springs and I can't go more than 10mm in the rear before I start rubbing. 15mm provides the look I want but I had to go back to 10mm due to running.
