CBS for brakes? 2200 more miles
I just tripped 2200 miles until front brakes need to be replaced, I have 46500 miles on my car.
At what thickness are the mile count down sensors at? Do you think ill trip the last sensor before 50k miles? I love new brakes on BMWs dime. |

There's only one sensor per axle to trip. The remaining miles shown is only an estimate. You might get another 5000 miles before the pad contacts the rotor, you might get only 500. What you can be sure of is that the pads need to be replaced at the earliest opportunity.

iDrive is telling me I have 250 miles left on my rear (I changed those with the sensor <20,000miles ago) and have half the pad left~ on both sides. It came on while at a track day so I'm not sure if the heat fouled the sensor, or what, but the pads are definitely still good.
Visual inspection is a must. I treat the sensors/iDriveCBS as a fail safe since I prefer to swap pads before spending the sensor, last time my sensor cracked in half while extracting it, though. If your sensor is already tripped they should be more than happy to change your pads. If you aren't (or fear they won't be) convinced, go for a spirited drive and work your pads down some more.
