Bootmod3 Burble with Catted Downpipe
This might have been discussed in other threads and if it has, I apologize. I'm currently running BM3 stage 2 AGG with burble set to custom level 4 aggression. I love how it sounds but I don't want to run it if it will have a negative impact on my car. I have read in some posts about running burble with either the stock downpipe or a high flow catted downpipe (I have the Fabspeed sport cat DP) and how it shouldn't be done. I have never seen a definitive answer on the subject so I decided to ask Performance Tuning Freaks. I asked if I it's okay run the AGG map with burble with a high flow cat or should you use a catless downpipe and if the burble setting would affect fuel economy. They stated "Burble will negatively impact your fuel economy. It will be a noticable difference. We don't recommend running AGG with catted DP. You run the risk of having pieces of your cat being spat out."
Again, this may be old news but I'm just passing it along. I'll be flashing my car tonight to the non-AGG stage 2 map.

Aggressive burbles on a catted DP will eventually melt your catalyst. The burbles and bangs you are hearing are little explosions in your exhaust manifold which is not good for the cat.

Thanks for the info. Is there a way to dialed down the AGG level on OTS stage 2 flash?

Theres a cog wheel in the top left corner that allows you to change the aggressiveness, duration, etc of theburble. It's found in the map you want to change.

I checked with the vendor and he stated the AGG option will not ruin aftermarket catted DP. In my particular case, the FB catted DP.

Honestly, I have noticed that my car has burbles on the non-AGG stage 2 map when I have the car in sport and sport plus. It’s not as insane sounding but it still sounds great. I’ll try and post a video soon.

I'm not sure. I've never run stage 1.

Safe Burble settings with Catted Downpipe
I’m thinking about getting a catted downpipe. If I go onto stage 2 non-agg 93 OTS, will the burbles on that map mess up my cells inside my catted downpipe?
Also will going onto stage 1 or stage 2 non-agg setup my burble settings for me where it doesn’t give my (stock cat/high flow cat) a huge beating or do I have to do that myself? If I lower the slider on the burble settings will it still ruin my stock ca or high flow cat? |

This is because the stock charge pipe often can't withstand the increased boost levels that come with tuning and might fail. But it's always best to check with your specific tuner for their recommended hardware for each stage.

Stage 2 for BM3 requires DP and IC. Stage 2 on MHD can be ran with IC+CP, stage 2+ requires DP in addition. Intake is not required on any tune and is mostly for noise |
