Just picked up 14 320 M Sport. Warranty up in 2 mos, what to look for?

I've had many BMW's over the years. Recently sold the 991 for an R8. Needed a DD since the R8 is the dedicated fun car.

Went back and forth between CTS, ATS, 528, 328, 320i. Came across a nice deal on a 14 320i M Sport 25k miles for a great price so pulled the trigger.

However only 2 months of warranty remains.

I've been consuming threads talking about front door lock actuators, oil leaks, thermostat as common issues. I do have a great Indy I'll be taking to for an inspection.

What are common items to look for since I only have 2 months to get any warranty issues done? The car is very clean, but I'm no mechanic.

Looking forward to ownership. The 320i makes a good "jack of all trades" car for commuting to work, shuttling the kids, and maybe a road trip here and there. Then the R8 for the fun serious drives.

I called the local dealer. Full warranty until Nov 16.

Also extra warranty on the following.

Link diagnosis module 10/120k
Timing Chain and Drive Chain 7/70k
Engine Coolant Thermostat 10/120k

Based on all this, I dont think I'll buy an extended warranty.

I'll do my PPI at a great indy to look for any issues that could be covered under warranty.
Then use the extended stuff above
Then put the $3k in my pocket towards future repairs at my Indy.

Garage List
The 320i is a very decent car. Should be reasonably bullet proof. 25000 miles is still reasonably new. I'd look at how well the AC is running and make sure it has the required pressure and load. I would also run a car fax check, the dealer will probably do that for you. Keep in mind that you can still get the BMW extended warranty as long as there is warranty left on your car. You might consider that. Good luck. Good choice.

Congrats!!

Just get a shop or the dealer to do a full check before warranty is over.
