CDV Mod - first great, now back to regular craptastic shifting?!

I had my CDV replaced on June 13th, and on the first day I noticed that the shifting was much better. When I got home, I also noticed that the clutch pedal was kind of limp on the first inch from the top, and when I released it in gear the car would surge just a bit...It kind of freaked me out. Well, those problems have gone away completely (after 1 day), but the bad shifting is back!

I haven't read of this happening to anyone else on here, but my 1-2 shifts are terrible again. Could something have gotten stuck in the valve? I already emailed the place where I ordered the part, and once I hear from him I'll be calling up the shop where it was done at here in MA. This sucks, because I really believed in this mod and it seemed to work the first day.

Did the shop bleed your clutch when they did the job? If they didn't bleed the clutch, that could be contributing to your problems.

I'm pretty sure they did. I heard them going through the procedure (pump clutch, etc...it took two of them to do it). Plus, it seemed to work fine the first day, now its just as notchy as it was before.

I haven't gotten around to installing mine yet (too hot!); but, my understanding is that the mod addresses the engagement of the clutch, not the notchiness of the shifter.

Yeah, the notchiness isn't really what I meant - I meant the jerkingess of the actual shift. I know I'm not that bad of a driver. Again, shifting at high revs (burning lots of gas) makes for smoother transitions, but it just seems to be back to the stock feel.

Is your A/C on when you get this jerkiness?

Maybe you're so used to driving the car like you used to before the mod that you haven't adapted your driving style to accommodate the new CDV. In other words, the jerkiness is due to your clutch release just like the it was initially due to the car's clutch release. (If that makes any sense. )

That could be it but you might want to bleed the clutch just to be safe.

The for your responses...but I don't think I got used to it. It seems really off...and like there is no improvement. I noticed this the day after it was changed. I also emailed RissRacing and got not response from them yet.
