Possible supercharger soon...
http://84.243.254.242/~verhoeven/web...dex.php?id=147
http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/singl...faWQ9Nzk=.html Last night I decided to do some searching, and these two sites popped up. They both say they are in development for a SC for our cars! =). Both saying that they should be done with R&D, and have a product in the near future. I e-mailed the second site asking the progress, I have yet to receive an response. The only bad thing is they are both over seas in the UK. But, nonetheless I want to see one of these systems come out! Thought i would share these two companies with you guys.

Short answer.
Supercharger is belt driven. Turbo charger has it's own drive system.

the second link says the ESS Tuning supercharger kit... that was a while ago... pretty sure that's not happening.

Sad news.. let's see what they e-mail me back with. I will let you all know as soon as I hear something. The first link seems more legit to me, but you never know.

actually ess is a pretty well known company and are pretty reputable. A friend of mine has their kit on his e46. Not bad at all.

i think he meant that its sad news that the ESS Tuning kit was talked about long ago but the company never actually produced anything for the n52. in addition, i think the site is just a vendor for ESS kits and despite having the kit listed--the kit isn't really in development anymore.

Anyone know why ESS stoped R&D on the supercharger? Hopefully this mosslen company pulls through. Or at least something from AA or VF pops up.

Perhaps because they think that even if they do make it, in the end E90 owners will be too scared to actually buy it? Otherwise you guys should be clamoring for them to make this.

In short, a turbocharger is driven by exhaust gas. That's why it sits on the exhaust manifold. A supercharger is driven by crankshaft rotation via belt or chain.

Good news. We should all send Mosselman e-mails expressing our interest in a SC for the N52. Hopefully they will produce it like it says so on their site.
