Visited BMW M HQ today, and....

Today I was back at BMW M HQ for reasons you will find out soon. I cannot comment on how, what and why... It is not for my car, but for my daily work.

But when I was talking in the parking lot and a BMW M2 Competition in HS drove past. I was like "Oh my that looks good in the bright sunshine", especially after seeing up to ten LBB M2's parked up and driving around, a black M2 and a white M2 parked up, but in the end I would take the black wheels and not the gloss silver ones. I think the gloss ones are not in tune with all the black on the car.

Tomorrow I will have another decent look at what I ordered. No pictures allowed other than what I share on my Instagram story (@shmarc150). Also I do not have the time to go out on the hunt to get any questions answered, we will leave them to the press drive soon.

Of course, you can drop your questions below and I will collect them for the press drive. Other than that, the M2C's are driving around in the open! Let's hope that more of you will spot them or see them at local events so that you have an idea how HS looks, because all photos shared here are not doing it justice at all. The Misano pics are clearly the best, but HS is a different story if it passes by your eyes.

Besides your thought on wheels, I haven't a clue what I'm supposed to anticipate for. Might help to throw some more bones out this way. Thanks

It is annoying that you cannot get to see the color yet everywhere... It would annoy me as well. If I have more info I can share, I will immediately as always.

I just wanted to let you guys know that HS is a much better looking color, now that I have seen it live in bright sunshine.

There is hardly any photo so far that shows that really, so if you make the decision for that color take it under consideration.

Have you ever seen Mini's White Silver Metallic? If so, would you say it's close enough to HS?

My issue is that, we've seen the colors (except for the liquid silver and burnt orange). They weren't all that exciting in the normal M2, and all but one cool color are carried over for another year into the M2C.

I was really on the fence about ordering HS over LBB. Man I wish I could see one in person.

Well... you've seen the teal in person, right? At this point, I've made my decision more or less based on the process of elimination.

I don't really find LBB to be that teal. Coming from an M3/M4 where the only option was Yas Marina Barf any blue was welcomed.

My wife won't let me order orange again because I complained about all the attention my Sahkir car got. My e92 is white and I find it boring. Black would be a winner if they had red interior.

So I got HS or LBB. Is HS like Silverstone? Does it have a blue hue?

Nice cars, cooler wife though

There are pictures of HS somewhere on these forums, the pictures suggest it has more of a pearl effect. But, I'm judging from online pictures, so there's that.

Also, not a fan of black cars in general. Dirt and water spots show up way too easily on black cars.

The mini looks more like a traditional silver. There is something more going on with the metallic in HS. It reacts to sun like Moonstone Metallic.

You shared this exact pic of mini before too but I'm not sure if it's the true representation of this color. I have seen Mini's White Silver couple times in real life and it definitely has the metallic features just like the pic of HS you shared. I'm inclined to say these two colors are quite similar maybe mainly because I haven't seen the HS in person. That's actually why I asked MR. if he has seen White Silver Metallic in person. Have you seen HS in real life?

I don't think this looks teal. it's a very cool color, my dad's M2 is LBB (and I am planning on HS for my M2C.)

LBB is probably first color I came across that looks better in the pics than it does in real life. Whenever I see pics of LBB, I love it but whenever I see one in person on a sunny day, it just looks more teal than blue to me. I would say if anyone is planning to order LBB, they should probably check it out in person before making a decision.

Is it then that HS has a subtle element of orange/yellow in the flake?

MR according to your IG account it looks like you driven the M2c.

Cant wait for your review.

I selected LBB. I had too many white cars in my life. One of my current cars is a white Tacoma.

I have a Sept 24 build and just submitted my October dates for European Delivery. I plan to be at the Ring on October 12. MR lets meet!

I have the opposite experience. Every time I see it in pics I'm underwhelmed. In real life it looks exceptionally attractive.

However, I agree it does look more teal than blue on a sunny day.

Yeah, don’t find it teal either. Atlantis Blue and Snapper Rocks Blue are teal. Both colors next to Long Beach Blue.

That's been my experience as well - I think it's a color that really looks awesome when clean too.

Here are some examples that are close to what I see in real life but I still think there are times it looks even more teal especially in the sun:
