This trim is in the middle of the dash, on the right part of the center console, and covers the handles used to close the doors. If selected, it replaces the same four spots where the standard carbon fiber trim is found.

instead of the carbon fiber interior trim you can opt for a simpler gloss back with a brushed aluminum surrounding.
take a look at a 230i build and price and see it on interior trim

Look at the X2 to get an idea of what it looks like.

I don’t love the standard dry CF trim but the upkeep is so much easier than piano black plastics that show every fingerprint and scratch.

Is there no glossy carbon trim available?

No. The M2 has always had "Open Carbon Fiber" trim. The "Black High-Gloss" trim is new to the M2c. These are the only trim options available.

I had the high gloss stuff in my 3 series. Trust me, you don't want it. First it shows an incredible amount of dust and dirt. It will also be dirty again 20 seconds after you clean it. If you clean it wrong you will add scratches to the finish. Does it look good? Sure if your car has an airtight seal and you don't plan on going outside. If you do ever to decide to drive your car, recommend you pick another trim.

Really wanted to go with Black High-Gloss, but you've got me reconsidering the Open Carbon Fiber. Did a little Googlin' and saw quiet a few essentially saying the same about BHG. If it was the same CF as the M3/4 I wouldn't have thought twice about changing it. Not a huge fan of OCF, but it's better than dealing with scratches, dust and fingerprints. Bummer.

I actually have the open CF stuff in my m235i. I’m actually a pretty big fan of it and it’s so much easier to maintain. At least on the 3er I thought I really wanted to high gloss stuff, it wasn’t until after I lived with it for a while where I began to rethink that decision.

Also, if you aren’t a big fan of the CF you might be able to get aluminum or something else from someone with a m240i. I basically traded a guy for his CF stuff that came in his m2 for my aluminum pieces that came from my car.
