VS-XX JUST SAY NO!

I will not mod. I will not mod. I will not mod.

Okay, now that I have made my point, I've been offered a set of two-week old Work VS-XX wheels on this M3. Here are the specs:

F 19 x 8.5 ET 39 245-35 ZR-19
R 19 x 10.5 ET 32 285-30 ZR-19

I know the tires are too big to fit, especially with the H&R Sport Springs I will have installed. Yet, a complete set of tires will be around $800, and the wheels can be had for around $3400.

This set up will probably fit the e90, but even with 275-30-19's the rear tires will likely rub, and Mr. NoMod here does not want to cut or roll fenders. 265-30-19s may be too skinny to fit onto 10.5 inch wide wheels.

Opinions anyone?

Your right on the 265's being too skinny to fit a 10.5 inch wheel. I used to have 275's on a 10.5 inch wheel and it was still skinny. I like Volk but not the finish on the wheels. They are kind of dull. I've seen them in person before. I say if you are going to spend $3400 on wheels, then get exactly the right fitment and new wheels. You can get some quality wheels for $3400. Good luck.. I too told myself I would not mod this car.. But I have too!!!

I wouldn't get them because you may have rubbing problems, not only on the outside but on the inside as well, +20mm closer to the rear suspension and +30mm closer to the fender.

They are sick, but you guys are poisoning me. This obsession is turning me into a mod-aholic again.

I am very concerned about this. I know that Marcus has 19x10 +23 offset in the rear, with Eibach springs (conservative ones), and he rubs when loaded. These VS-XX wheels are 19x10.5 w/ +32 offset. This is a difference of 9 mm.

The extra half inch wheel width translates into 12.7 mm, or 6.35 mm extra width from the wheel depth center outward, and 6.35 mm extra width from the wheel depth center inward. So when we compare Marcus's wheels with these, the extra 9 mm offset effectively translates into 9 - 6.35 mm = 2.65 mm inward displacement of the VS-XX wheel/tire setup in the rear (compared with his). My H&R Sport springs would be lower than the Eibachs, so the tires probably rub the outer fender when loaded. 2.65 mm is probably smaller than Cindy Crawford's mole.

That is too funny. You know you are a physician when you compare things to physical attributes.
