Hi all,

This is my first post here so please take it easy on me

Have been lurking around for quite some time now after buying my first car, a 2007 e90 318i. Having done a few simpel diy's I am now looking at replacing my struts.

The car has 160k km's (±100k miles) and the suspension is feeling a bit old, it has no sign of ever beeing replaced, and when i jacked the car up, front and back, this is what I found (see attached.)

The shiny parts of the truts are also covered with a small layer of oil, so my guess it that they are leaking. I want to replace the OEM struts with bilstein B4's, to have an OEM feel for a not so OEM price

My question: what else beside the struts and the dust covers (obviously) have to be replaced, or are recommended to be replaced when installing the new B4's?.

Looking at realoem for the front struts my guess is parts 11 & 12 ( http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=31_0716 )

And for the back struts part 1 and maybe 2? ( http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_1928 )

Any other recommended parts are more then welcome

In your case replace all related strut and shock components except springs and spring perches (#9 upper spring plate).

Agreed. If you're feeling randy throw on a sport or M3 model swaybar with new end links while you're in there.
