Next steps M2 Comp (USA)

Hi,

So we got the official reveal and specs, we got the colors, we got the base price and the options in different countries, we got the price and options in the US (im in the US so i care about that the most), so my question is now: what is next?
How do I get one of these bad boys?

I'm on the "list" at 3 dealers but they know nothing so far and can't take any next steps.
Do i just sit and prey one of the dealers gets "allocation" and assigns it to me?

Last official communication from BMW NA was in April.

Thanks

I was able to place an order, but no allocations are available until June 5th. The 5th was not confirmed, but a rumor.

Same here I was able to place an order i.e. build sheet but SA told me June 6th. Again it maybe rumor. But I have a feeling it's coming soon because SOP is 30 days away.

So if i understand correctly, you have orders placed but if your dealer gets 0 allocations or you're not first on the "list" that order is worthless?

It is not a real order until your dealer gets an allocation.

I am aware of that. I've done this many many times

Yeap. That's the same for all US dealers. No allocations yet. I am number 1.

I think most dealers get allocations around the 5th-7th of each month which is why they're probably saying June 5th. I got the same response from my dealer.

That's what my SA said also.

Ok got it.
So we're all waiting for those allocations to come in.
And it should be somewhere around 5th-7th of June.

This has to be the most to the point thread ever.

My SA just told me that he's not seeing production availability until August. I'm not sure if that's for their specific allocation slots. I'm able to put a build together and may wait until January for a production slot since I won't be driving the car in the winter.

Anyone know if the 25% tariff Trump wants to impose on German cars could affect our orders? I'm wondering if a sooner build is better just in case something gets passed.

A crystal ball would help with that. It's an interesting dilemma and makes you wonder. I wonder if this happens if my german cars will be worth more money in the used car market.

Just an observation. In Canada I have a confirmed allocation as of May the 8th. There are fewer cars in/for Canada.
Could it be that they will limit the allocations, at first, in order to sell off existing outgoing model M2's that are filtering through the dealers?

If my dealer won't do MSRP I'm straight up walking out no deposit yet but I don't mind putting down a deposit

My dealer told me yesterday that not only do they not have a waiting list of any kind for the M2C, not a single buyer has expressed interest. I was a little surprised, considering they’re the largest dealer in the state.

Make sure you bring $ and have them confirm. Some CA's are clueless at some dealers. Others are very knowledgeable.

I called my dealer (who got me my current M2) and he said no list was made yet and started the list with me.

The second dealer said I don't think we have a list and I told him yes you do cause I know the person in 1st place.

Then digging further they found two more people ahead of us with deposits already.

I am getting that feeling too. I was told I was third at one dealer and first at another. The dealer I was third at all of a sudden says I am first. And the other dealership makes it seem like no big deal. They are still trying to talk me into a M3 and a X5M. Both dealers know next to nothing about details, dates, M performance parts, delivery schedules, options...
It seems like they don't have too many people asking about M2C based on how conversations are going with my SA and Sales manager. I don't think enough "normal" people know about them(we are a bit crazy)

I got the same feeling from a couple dealers I called last week as well.

Did they offer you a big discount on the M3? I should get one if the price is close to M2.

What worries me about being there first delivery is since it is the first at the store, I would assume every(most) employees are going to at least poke around at it, sit in it, want to hear it, etc... I am going to ask them VERY NICELY to not let anyone drive it, don't fill it up with gas, don't take the plastic wrap off of it... I have not had good experience with service at dealershipsil smudges on headliner?!?! Scratched door pull from a fingernail or watch?! Dirty shoe scuffs on the door and bottom of center stack. Maybe Im picky, but I respect my things and expect others to as well!!!!!
