Can we have sat-nav pro with anti radar?

Snooper Indago combines portable satellite navigation with Snooper's Enigma speed camera database to give a satellite navigation system with a properly maintained comprehensive database giving you voice alerts to accident blackspots, mobile speed traps and fixed speed cameras including the posted speed limits. In resume is it possible to have anti radar in the fixed SAT-NAV of E90!

I think that it is a great idea. After all, in those jurisdictions using speed cameras, the stated objective is deterrence not fee collection. Drivers have, IMO the right to know the location of speed cameras.

I very much doubt it: radar detectors are illegal in many countries. In France, for example, there's an immediate €1500 fine, even if the police find it switched off in your glove box.

That said, there are aftermarket solutions that can be installed 'invisibly' behind the front bumper. But seeing as the police now also have radar detector detectors...

Unless your radar detector is a "dirty" detector, meaning it sends out signals as opposed to just receiving, then the police would have no way of detecting whether a car has a detector or not. My V1, for example, is nothing more than a "radio" that picks up on radar frequencies.

But speed camera detectors are not radar detectors. GPS-based speed camera detectors have been ruled legal in the UK, even tough there radar detectors are illegal. Speed cameras are always-on devices which also detect other traffic violations, such as burning a red light, etc.

Right-but to defeat lasers the detector needs to send out a signal as I understand it, to detect the beam before it pings the car. That signal can be detected. Most portables radars now are laser.
