factory engine oil
Is the Castrol oil (BMW badged engine oil 5W-30) a BMW LL-01 or LL-04 designated oil? thanks - I saw a post awhile back where someone posted a picture of the back of the bottle

I have info from a 2007 bmw tech info dvd that says LL-04 sould only be used with engines in europe.(fuel issues in US and other areas)
LL-01 is what should be used in the US |

Well, at least they actually give you a specific recommendation for your car. Probably cheaper than BMW's oil, too.
Have you checked Castrol's site? The 335i isn't even listed in the "which oil to buy" guide. Redline is also not helpful in this regard. |
